BCCI ACU to video counsel players in UAE

An eight-member BCCI team, led by Ajit Singh, landed in Dubai on Tuesday and is in the middle of its six-day quarantine. Ajith has already said that IPL, beginning September 19, will be more secure than before as it will be conducted in a strict bio-bubble.

There will be no crowds at the stadium and fans won’t be allowed to throng the team hotels. There have been instances when corruptors masqueraded as fans to approach players. ACU will speak to all the teams separately and the sessions will be more useful for the younger players, who are not exposed to the glamour of IPL.

“This time, there will be video counselling. We can do it as a group as well as on an individual basis depending on what is possible. We will do it one by one (with all teams),” Ajit told PTI. The players will be told about the ways corruptors may try to reach them via social media or phone (Whatsapp) as they are the two main avenues they can reach the cricketers in a protected environment.
