After CSK failed on so many levels in the match against RR, Dhoni said that they weren't there this time and that it does not always go one's way.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni received criticism after he said that the youngsters in the team did not have the spark when he spoke after the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League 2020 at Abu Dhabi on Monday.
CSK opted to bat after winning the toss and could only post 125/6 by the end of the first innings which the Royals chased easily with Butler's fifty.
After CSK failed on so many levels in the match against RR, Dhoni said that they weren't there this time and that it does not always go one's way. He blamed a failed process and insecurity in the dressing room. He also stated that the youngsters didn't show the spark they were expecting. He said, ‘Maybe we didn't see the kind of spark that they could've given us to say okay you know push the experienced guys and make space for them'.
Former India Captain Kris Srikkanth decidedly refused to take this point as he felt that the youngsters were not given enough chance to show what they had. He also questioned the selection of the team. He was irked by the inclusion of Kedar Jadhav in the XI even after his consistent low performance.
The fans also shared the same sentiment. Although some were disappointed with the whole lack of resolve in the team, some have come up with calculations that makes way for CSK to Qualify to the play-offs.
CSK is currently at the bottom of the IPL points table and with a bleak chance to qualify to the play-offs. Dhoni and CSK coach Stephen Fleming had assured of some changes in the forthcoming matches and opportunities for the youngsters in the team. Dhoni also said that they might be able to perform as the pressure to qualify was off them.
