Sanju Samson to lead India ‘A’ in one-dayers

NEW DELHI: Young all-rounder Raj Bawa has earned his maiden India ‘A’ call-up while Sanju Samson will lead the home team in the three-match one-day series against New Zealand ‘A’, starting September 22 in Chennai.

The second and third matches are scheduled for September 25 and 27 respectively.

Prithvi Shaw, who has been in fine form in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, is back in the mix.

Bawa, one of the heroes of India’s U-19 World Cup-winning campaign earlier this year, is a fast medium bowler and left-handed middle-order batter.

Bawa’s all-round abilities could be put to test and the selectors may get an idea if he can be elevated to the senior level later.
