State BJP leaders keen on roping in Rajini to their side
The Tamil Nadu BJP leaders are upset with actor Kamal Haasan for his anti-Citizenship Amendment Act views. Whereas, BJP leaders H Raja and Subramanian Swamy are seeing actor Rajnikanth as a pro-Hindutva politician.

“I will support Rajinikanth if he protects the Hindutva ideologies,” Swamy told reporters after participating in the convocation of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya University. Currently, there is no scope for any new political party in the state, but it is for the actor to come clear about floating a party, he said.
When asked whether Rajini-Kamal combo will be a formidable force in the state to take on Dravidian parties, he said, “Let Rajinikanth first float his party, then we can comment about the poll alliance later.”
Similarly, BJP leader H Raja also extended his support to actor Rajinikanth who has earlier voiced his support for CAA and NPR. “The Centre has already clarified that there is no threat for Muslims, but the Opposition parties are raking up the issue for political gains,” Raja said.
According to BJP insiders, Rajinikanth and the national party are on the same page when it comes to CAA and national security issues, but the Opposition, including Makkal Needhi Maiam founder Kamal Haasan wrongly misinterpreted the views of Rajinikanth. “We are waiting for the superstar to launch the party and the star will be certainly a part of the BJP alliance during the 2021 Assembly election,” said a BJP senior wishing not to be named.
Politically the actor who moots the idea of spiritual politics cannot go with the DMK and it means that the actor will have to align with pro-Hindutva parties, including the AIADMK and the BJP, he said.
