BJP behind violence, claims CPI
The ruling BJP triggered violence across the nation by testing the patience of the people by implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), claimed CPI state secretary R Mutharasan in Thanjavur on Saturday.

Speaking to the mediapersons, Mutharasan said, having the majority on the floor, the BJP has intentionally passed the CAA without even discussing it with the other political parties. This has triggered violence in the nation. “The BJP is very much concerned to implement the RSS ideology at any cost,” Mutharasan claimed.
Since the CAA is against secularism, the students started their protest but the police have been attacking the students. This is a kind of attrocity, he said. The BJP owes moral responsibility for all these, he said.
Meanwhile, the CPI state secretary said that the police denied permission for the rally against the CAA by the DMK. “Even if the police deny permission, the protest will be held on December 23 as per schedule,” he said, adding that the BJP has been trying to separate the Muslims from the nation.
