“Why it (GGI) has been released suddenly. Who has approved it for the Centre to release. From where the departmental-wise data was given,” Stalin asked in a statement.

Tamil Nadu has secured number one ranking for GGI in the data, which was recently released by the Personnel Ministry.

Stating that the GGI report claims that Tamil Nadu is number one state in good governance, the DMK leader said that either the data in the report was not explained properly or did not haveexact details.

“Of the nine departments, which was taken into consideration, Tamil Nadu secured first position only in two departments and how come the state attained the top position compared to other states,” he wondered.

Pointing out that Tamil Nadu had secured only 14th position in connection with Commerce and Industries Department, Stalin alleged through the state have organised Global Investors Meet several times, it could not attract any big investors and investments.

    Flays Sinhala onlynational anthem

The DMK president also criticised the Sri Lankan government’s decision to sing national anthem in Sinhala only on Independence Day and termed it as an attempt to isolate the Tamils living there.

Expressing his disappointment over singing of national anthem in Sinhala only, Stalin sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar’s intervention in this regard.

“Such majoritarian act would lead to isolation of Tamils in the Island nation,” he said adding “disappointed and concerned to hear that Sri Lankan government has decided to only sing national Anthem in Sinhala for their Independence Day.”
