Left parties to conduct anti-CAA demos from Jan 3
The Left parties on Sunday announced that they would hold demonstration at the district headquarters in the state against the assault on the Constitution through the Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Register of Citizens and the National Population Registry and also in support of the all India strike to be held on January 8.

At a meeting of the Left parties held at CPM headquarters here, the CPM, CPI and CPI(ML) Liberation have jointly decided to hold the demonstration on January 3 to 5 at the district headquarters. The meeting was attended by the state secretaries of CPM, CPI and CPI (ML) Liberation here.
In a joint statement, the parties said that a call has been given by the Left to hold a nationwide movement to organise powerful protest movements against the assault on the Indian Constitution through the CAA, NRC and NPR and to show solidarity to the all India general strike called by the Central Trade Unions.
The Left parties also extended support to all India Kisan and Agricultural Workers organisation and civil society movement that have called for a ‘grameen bandh’ on January 8.
