The ‘Rathas’ are set to visit more than 1,500 schools in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts. Before the commencement of their journey, special prayers were performed for the ‘Rathas’ in Kabaleeswarar temple in Mylapore and Parthasarathy Temple in Triplicane.
As the Hindu Spiritual and Service Exhibition is set to commence on Tuesday, 13 programmes have been planned well in advance to spread awareness about the event and ‘Rathas’ visiting the schools are part of the scheduled programme.
Events such as ‘Kolattam’, ‘Silambattam’ and other Tamil traditional events were held before flagging off the ‘Rathas’. Decorated statues of Vivekandar and Kannagi were present in the ‘Vivekananda’ chariots. Spiritual leaders and Thuglak Editor Gurumoorthy were present during the flagging off function at ParthasarathyTemple.
