Ahead of polls, blame game begins between office-bearers
After the Madras High Court declared the June 23 election ‘null and void’, the office-bearers of the Nadigar Sangam have to come up with a new electoral list.

Ishari K Ganesh, who is pitted against Vishal Krishna for the post of General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, said, “I believe that fresh polls will be conducted in a fair manner within three months under the retired HC judge K Gokul Dass.” Unhappy with the verdict, Vishal’s Pandavar Ani will now appeal the verdict.
Poochi Murugan, the EC Member of Vishal’s Pandavar Ani, told DT Next, “The law states that we can appeal the verdict and we would even take this case to the Supreme Court. Ishari Ganesh has personal vengeance against Vishal and Karthi after they opted out of his production venture Vella Raja Karuppu Raja in order to raise funds for the Nadigar Sangam building. We are working towards the completion of the building and will fight this legally.” When asked if this is the end of the road for Pandavar Ani, Murugan replied, “We will fight back and win the election as we have worked for the welfare of theatre artistes. Now that we have decided to appeal the verdict, Ganesh has announced his decision to bribe the artistes in the name of pension.”
Ishari Ganesh laughed off those accusations and said, “It is Pandavar Ani who has been delaying the construction of the building deliberately. I have nothing else to say.” Actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin maintained a balanced stance on the issue and said, “It has been a disappointment that the election has been called off even without counting the votes. I sincerely suggest them to hold fresh and fair elections only if they believe that there will be an outcome. If not, there is no need for one. It is for them to decide.”
