Rajinikanth will not fall into BJP trap, says TN Congress chief
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president KS Alagiri said that actor Rajinikanth will not fall into the trap of the BJP. “However, it can’t be denied that Rajini supports the BJP,” he told reporters in Coimbatore on Sunday.

Stating that Periyar is a social reformer, Alagiri questioned the double standards of the actor. “Rajini criticised Periyar, but why did he maintain silence and abstained from speaking about Thuglak condemning BJP when Babri Masjid was demolished?” he asked.
Pointing out that Rajinikanth will not fall into the net spread by the BJP, the Congress leader said that the actor is intelligent enough to make his way out and he could not be caught.
Expressing anguish against bringing public exams for Class five and Class eight, Alagiri said that this system of education is against social justice. “The RSS is trying to enforce ‘manudharmam’ under the pretext of developing skills for students. It is wrong for the AIADMK, which chose to tread the path of Periyar to adopt such caste-based education system,” he said. The Congress leader also condemned the state government for suspending NEET coaching.
Can’t influence actor: Kasthuri Raja
BJP leader and Director Kasthuri Raja on Sunday said that Superstar Rajinikanth should decide whether he should join the BJP or should start a party of his own. “It is up to him (Rajinikanth) to join in BJP or enter politics with his own party. I cannot influence his decision. I cannot influence anyone be it my son,” said Kasthuri Raja, whose younger son actor Dhanush has married the elder daughter of Rajinikanth.
Recently, Rajinikanth courted controversy through his statements on Periyar and after the controversy, opposition parties and Dravidian outfits started associating Rajinikanth with the BJP. When reporters asked Kasthuri Raja, who hoisted the tri-colour at the BJP office in Chennai on the issue, the director replied that Rajinikanth is a person who loves India deeply because he believes in nationality, thus indirectly asserting the relationship between nationalist BJP and Rajinikanth.
