It is said, Natesan alias ‘Super’ Natesan, the Lalgudi AIADMK union secretary fielded his wife Isaivani for the post of union chairperson in the recent local body elections. However, Isaivani could not win the chairperson seat.
In such a backdrop, the Natesan blamed one Gunaseelan, an AIADMK cadre who contested as an independent candidate as the party failed to provide him a seat. However, Gunaseelan won as the union council member and he voted for the DMK candidate Ravichandran who emerged successful.
The 21-member union council had eight AIADMK members while DMK had 10 members and three, including Gunaseelan, were independent members. While Natesan put all efforts to rope in the independent candidates, all his attempts failed and they favoured the DMK candidate Ravichandran. It is said, Natesan prevented Gunaseelan to get the candidature for the council member seat using his clout with the party high command.
Blaming that Gunaseelan favoured the DMK candidate, Natesan had reportedly spread slanderous comments against Gunaseelan and even was insisting the other members to read it. He also spread some offensive comments about his character also.
Since Natesan was maligning his reputation, Gunaseelan lodged a complaint with the Lalgudi police. Based on the complaint, the Lalgudi police registered a case against Natesan on Tuesday. However, he was let on bail from the police station.
