No positive cases of COVID-19 in Pondy: Health Director
Stating that no positive cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in all the four regions of the Union Territory, Health Services Director Dr Mohan Kumar on Thursday said that there is no need for people to panic.

In an informal chat with media on Thursday, Dr Kumar said the suspected nine COVID-19 cases here turned negative in the test reports.
He further said representatives here are taking part in the consultation meeting convened by the Central government in respect to coronavirus prevention and that the directions are being implemented.
Isolation wards have been arranged at Jipmer and the chest clinic at Gorimedu here, Dr Kumar said, adding that all the medical colleges in Puducherry have been told to arrange for ten isolation beds each which they complied to. Personal hygiene is most important to prevent the spread of this virus, Kumar said, and advised people not to go to places where there is a large congregation.
In the present situation, there is no need for all to wear masks, Dr Kumar said, adding that those with cough or sneezing could wear it.
