The DMK women’s wing secretary, Kanimozhi has welcomed the automated coronavirus awareness initiative of the Centre even as some of the leaders from the opposition termed it an overkill.

Kanimozhi has even suggested that the Centre could play such awareness messages in regional languages. The Thoothukudi MP, who took to social media to laud the initiative of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, said, “Automatic awareness voice messages on coronavirus outbreak when we make calls is a welcome step. Would be even more impactful if Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare considers to have the same in respective regional languages.”
She tagged Union Health Minister Dr Harsha Vardhan on the Twitter message. Kanimozhi was not the lone DMK face to draw public attention on coronavirus. Party president MK Stalin, too, had responded favourably to the awareness drive conducted at the Secretariat on Monday.
