Alagiri urges public to not depend on ‘inefficient’ TN govt
State Congress Chief KS Alagiri asked the public to prepare themselves to combat the spread of coronavirus and not completely trust the “inefficient State government” on Friday.

Alagiri, in a statement, said, “State government has no proper understanding about the deadly virus as it has made only 300 beds ready for coronavirus infected patients. The government should undertake all the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO) into consideration”.
He added that COVID had spread to 108 countries from Wuhan province in China so far and more than 4,500 people have died, including more than 3,800 in China. State and Central governments have the duty to remove the doubts about coronavirus from the minds of the people.
“Except for the awareness message during the phone calls, the Centre has not taken any preventive measures. The message has, in fact, strengthened the fears of the public,” Alagiri said.
He further said that Ayurveda and Siddha have cure for all deadly diseases. “During dengue outbreak in the country, there was no cure in Allopathy and medical fraternity turned towards ‘Nilavembu’ for the cure. Similarly, for COVID, governments should search for medicines in Ayurveda and Siddha and should distribute it for free,” Alagiri added.
He also requested the public to avoid travelling and urged senior citizens to be more cautious as they are more vulnerable to COVID-19.
