However, the students of the Commerce group said that their Economics paper was easy to attend with almost all the questions came from the syllabus. The board exams for students studying in Class 12 assume significance as they are appearing in the exams based on a new syllabus, which is considered to be tough.

“One mark questions were tough to attend. In addition, two questions that appeared in mark five-section were twisted and many of the students found it difficult to answer,” S Mohan Kumar, a Class 12 student studying in a private higher secondary school in Pallavaram, said. He also pointed out that though all the questions were asked within the syllabus, the answers that had to be written were big and it was difficult to complete the exam within the stipulated time.

K Gomathi, a Class 12 student from a government-aided school in Chromepet, said that it took a long time to answer the questions that appeared in the five-marks section.

Echoing similar views to the students, D Savithiri, a Physics teacher in a private school in Pammal, said that only brilliant students were able to face the question paper without difficulty. “However, the students who were in the average and slow-learning category found it very tough,” she added.

Class 12 Commerce students said almost all the questions that appeared in the Economics paper were easy to attend and the examination could be completed well before the scheduled time.

“I finished the exam in 15 minutes before the stipulated time, which was very useful to revise my answer sheet,” B Sukumar, a Class 12 Commerce Group student studying in a government-aided school in Tambaram, said.

After a gap of one week, students from both Science and Commerce streams will be facing the Chemistry and Accountancy exam respectively next Monday.
