Declare info about attending meetings in other states: Govt
The state government on Tuesday urged those who have attended religious gatherings in other states to be more cautious and self-declare if they are suffering from symptoms of coronavirus.

“Quarantine cases are leading to religious gatherings and weddings, those who have attended such large public congregation and now suffering flu-like symptoms should voluntarily call state helplines - 104 and 1070, for medical screening,” commissioner of revenue administration and state disaster management J Radhakrishnan told reporters. This is a humble request for all those who had recently visited other states like Kerala, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka for all religious tours or weddings.
The state public health department will make arrangements for those who reach out to the helplines and the state disaster management authorities are also taking efforts to ensure that the food and goods supply chain is not affected. The commissioner also noted that the shops that fail to make provisions for social distancing will be locked and sealed under State Disaster Management Act. Particularly the fish markets and meat shops should be more cautious, he said.
Meanwhile, to mitigate the issues pertaining to farmers and migrant workers, the state also passed a government order under which the movement of agricultural equipment, farm produce should be allowed. The order also advised the employers of migrant workers and casual workers to take care of their employees.
Salaries of the migrant workers should not be cut and it is the responsibility of the entrepreneurs to take care of their workers, the order read.
Deliver financial assistance at doorstep: Minister
The revenue and disaster management department on Tuesday directed the collectors to take steps under which the social welfare scheme beneficiaries will be paid their pensions and financial assistance at their doorstep. Minister RB Udhayakumar in a note to collectors said that there were 32.45 lakh beneficiaries getting OAP, widow assistance and destitute pension. All should be given financial assistance at doorsteps
