TN records 110 new cases, 28 test positive in Kovai
Of the 110 positive cases of COVID-19 that were reported in the State on Wednesday which took the total number of cases in the State to 234, Coimbatore recorded the highest number of case touching 28, followed by Theni and Dindigul reporting 20 and 17 cases respectively.

Madurai reported nine cases, while Tirupattur and Chengalpattu reported seven cases each. Tirunelveli and Sivagangai have reported six and five cases respectively, while Kancheepuram, Thoothukudi, Tiruvarur and Erode have reported two cases each.
One case each was reported in Karur, Tiruvannamalai and Chennai. Two foreign nationals, one from Myanmar and the other from Indonesia were among those who tested positive.
After the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami appealed the people who have attended the conference to come forward and identify themselves on Tuesday, a total of 1,103 people had approached the health department officials and informed of their travel history to attend the conference in Delhi. “I would like to thank all those who came forward and identified themselves to have attended the conference in Delhi. We will take the samples of all the 1,103 people and the results will be declared on Thursday. So far, 658 samples out of these 1,103 people have been tested for Covid19,” the Health Secretary said. The state health department officials had already identified 515 people who had attended the conference. “More number of Tamil Nadu residents who attended the conference have tested positive for COVID-19 in Delhi as they did not return back to Tamil Nadu and are being treated there,” added Beela Rajesh.
So far, a total of 2,726 samples have been tested across the State. Currently, there are 995 patients with suspected symptoms who are admitted in isolation wards in several hospitals across the State.There are about 81 passengers who are under quarantine in quarantine facilities currently, while 4,070 passengers have completed the 28 days of quarantine.
As per senior health department officials, the department is looking at all the mass gatherings held after February 15 across the State, including the Isha Mahashivratri event. However, so far, there have no positive cases from any other mass gatherings in the State.
