The GO was issued after complaints received by the School Education Department that private schools were sending messages to parents asking them to pay tuition fee, some even warning that fine would be imposed if the fee was delayed. After the media raised queries about it, the School Education department sent a proposal to the State government on Monday. Based on the recommendations, state government issued the GO signed by Chief Secretary K Shanmugam.
