TN CM urges banks to extend loans to agri,MSME sectors
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K.Palaniswami on Saturday urged the bankers to extend loans to agriculture and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sectors.

Addressing the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) here, Palaniswami said: "The credit deposit ratio has always been over 100 for the past several years showing that business organisations in the state are coming forward to take loans and the banks are also proactive in disbursing the same."
Pointing out that farmers in the Cauver delta region will be going in for 'kuruvai' crop soon, Palaniswami urged the bankers to extend loan support for the farmers.
The Chief Minister also requested the bankers to hold special camps in the state to distribute Kisan Credit Cards.
He said that nearly 30 per cent of the state gross domestic product (SGDP) is being contributed by MSME.
Palaniswami also requested the bankers to extend loans to MSME sector so that a larger share of Rs 3 lakh crore assistane announced by the central government is secured for Tamil Nadu.
He urged the bankers to lend financial assistance to micro and small scale industries, women self help groups and disburse the wages to MNRGEA workers at their worksite for three months.
