Kausalya to challenge Monday verdict in supreme court

Speaking to the media in the Nilgiris, where she is employed in Wellington Cantonment Board, Kausalya said, “I was kept informed by the prosecution during trial in the lower court in Tirupur, which didn’t happen in the High Court. Also the DSP, who investigated the case, was changed.” Raising further questions over the verdict, Kausalya said, “In the High Court, we couldn’t have our lawyer and had to go with the person appointed by the government. If Annalakshmi and Chinnasamy (her parents) had not committed the crime, then, Shankar should have been alive. He should have lived with me now, but he is no more.
Then, how could they be freed.” Claiming to move the Supreme Court against the High Court verdict, Kausalya said, “I will not stop until I get justice for the death of Shankar. Until I am alive, I will never get tired in my fight for justice. My legal fight in the case will continue until justice is delivered.” A victim of caste crime, Kausalya’s first marriage with Shankar, a Dalit from Udumalpet ended in tragedy within eight months.
