Rise in coronavirus cases in 7 TN districts
The number of people infected with coronavirus in Tamil Nadu is increasing day by day.

In the past 12 hours, more than 100 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Kanyakumari, Vellore, Salem, Theni and Madurai districts.
On Friday, Kanyakumari suffered an overnight spike of 103 Covid-19 cases. As per reports, the number of people affected in the district rose to 1,032. It was also found that 583 people were currently under treatment at various government and private hospitals.
With 146 new Covid infections, Vellore's total tally stood at 2,640. Nearly 1k people (994) have been discharged so far while 1,621 are under treatment. Twenty-five deaths have also been reported.
91 positive cases in Tirunelveli on Friday lead to an increase in overall count which now stood at 1,500.
Salem's tally crossed 1600 cases with highest single-day of 130 cases.
Theni reported 102 COVID-19 positive infections with total count reaching 1,441. Full lockdown comes into force in Bodinayakanur from today for a period of two weeks.
There has been a surge in corona cases in Madurai for the past few days. So far, 5509 cases have been reported with 210 new fresh cases on Friday.
Chengalpattu reported another 100 cases raising the district's tally to 7486. More than 4k (4,199) people have recovered so far. The district has also reported 145 deaths.
