Corona cases see a new surge in Chengalpet

Chengalpet has reported 337 fresh Coronavirus cases on Sunday. This has taken the total tally to 9,697 in the district.Â
The total number of fatalities due to Covid-19 in Chengalpet has risen to 186. About 6,845 have been recovered after undergoing treatment, while the active cases in the district soared to 2,328. Â
Tamil Nadu is detecting at least 4000 fresh Covid cases everyday, with Chennai city reporting a minimum of 1000 new infections. Thiruvallur and Chengalpet are recording maximum number of cases in the state after Chennai. The total tally of the state stands at 1,65,714, including the number of recovered patients.Â
The active cases in Tamil Nadu stands at 49,452 according to yesterday's bulletin. About 88 patients died yesterday alone in the state, taking the death toll to 2,403.
