Covid-19 cases surpass 10k in Chengalpet and 5k in Kanchipuram

Chengalpet has detected 360 fresh coronavirus cases on Monday. This has taken the total tally in the district to 10,008. 

Fatalities in Chengalpet stands at 194, while 7114 patients have recovered after treatment. The active cases in Chengalpet now are 2,349. 

In Kanchipuram, the Covid-19 count has crossed 5,000 on Monday, according to Kanchipuram Health Department Deputy Chief Dr Pazhani.  

Today, the district reported 315 fresh cases. About 2,511 are undergoing treatment in Kanchipuram, while 2,523 have recovered. Death count reported in the district until now is 66. The total tally stands at 5,029.   

Theni registered 128 new Covid cases, taking the total number to 2,727 and Vellore reported 168 new infections. The total count in Vellore now stands at 4,225.
