    Speaking to the media at Nambiyur, Gobichettipalayam after laying the foundation for development projects including new roads and bridges worth Rs 2 crore, the Minister said that steps were being taken to telecast the lessons through channels for government school students.

    The Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has already inaugurated the televised classes. On reducing the syllabus, Sengottaiyan said that an 18-member committee set up for the purpose has submitted a report and its recommendations were being perused for implementation.

    “Class 12 students, including those from containment zones, can apply online for revaluation of their answer papers,” he said. The Minister also said that 52 lakh laptops were given to students free of cost so far.

    On the Athikadavu – Avinashi Ground Water Recharge and Drinking Water Supply Scheme, the Minister said that works are underway at a faster phase to be completed on time.

    “For implementation of the scheme, Rs 1,645 crore has been allotted. Water bodies will get replenished once the scheme gets over,” he said. The Minister also expressed happiness over the Elathur pond filling up.
