    According to the state health ministry, as many as 2,89,787 persons have recovered from COVID-19, which amounts to 82.8 per cent recovery rate as on Tuesday evening.

    Continuing the trend, the State recorded 5,709 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, including 11 imported cases from other states. With this, the total number of cases in Tamil Nadu has reached 3,49,654.

    The death toll breached the 100 mark again on Tuesday with 121 fatalities. As per the data, 6,007 persons had died due to the virus, a 1.7 per cent mortality rate.

    According to the state health ministry, as many as 2,89,787 persons have recovered from COVID-19, which is a 82.8 percent recovery rate as on Tuesday evening.

    Only 53,860 persons are under treatment in the state, which is around 15.4 per cent.

    Meanwhile, Chennai’s count crossed 1,000 again on Tuesday with 1,182 more testing positive. It amounted to 20% of total cases in the state.

    The active cases in Chennai stands at 12,103 while 1,097 persons were discharged on Tuesday. 24 of the 121 deaths were reported in the state capital.

    As of date, 1,19,059 persons were tested positive for the COVID-19 in Chennai and 1,04,455 were discharged. A total of 2,501 persons died which is a mortality rate of 0.7 per cent.

    Thiruvallur, Coimbatore, Chengalpattu recorded highest number of cases after Chennai with 489, 392 and 344 new infections respectively. Cuddalore, Kanchipuram, Salem and Theni reported over 200 cases.

    Tamil Nadu has tested 38,45,654 samples and 37,12,657 people so far, according to the media bulletin issued by the Directorate of Public Health.

    The number of Covid-19 cases between the age of 0-12 has risen to 16,834 in the state.
