Panic among coir factory owners after series of thefts in Peravurani

While coir factories in Thanjavur were gradually limping towards normalcy after the Gaja devastation, lockdown owing to pandemic had given another blow to the firms in the district and they have started to function with a minimum workforce. Despite there are more than 150 coir factories operational in and around Peravurani in Thanjavur district, the Gaja cyclone devastation had destroyed several large and medium firms across the region and among them, a few factories are yet to resume their activities. This, however, had led the miscreants to take away several equipments lying idle in the venue and thus, the owners of coir factories were shocked to find a series of theft incidents.
