Speaking to reporters after paying respects to former president Pranab Mukherjee, Murugan said, “Instead they should try to maintain cordial relationship.”

In reference to remarks made by BJP leader H Raja that the Ministers were crossing the line in alliance ethics, he said, the sharp retort from the BJP leader comes in response to Minister Sellur K Raju’s comments that national parties could only have to piggyback on Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu.

However, Murugan said that the party’s alliance with AIADMK is going strong.

Stating that many senior leaders from other parties, especially from the DMK, are joining BJP, Murugan said that many former MP’s and MLA’s from other parties have evinced interest in joining the national party.

“State politics may see a change by December. BJP has a great future in Tamil Nadu. As of now, our complete focus is on winning a considerable number of MLAs in the Assembly polls. We are hopeful of winning 60 seats and consider the Kongu belt to be our stronghold,” he added. Murugan said that the youth in the state have been attracted towards BJP in large numbers.

On VK Sasikala’s properties being attached by the Income Tax Department, Murugan said that the agency of law was doing its job.
