Attributing the suicide of student Nithyashree for want of Android phone to irresponsibility of the government, he said that Nithyashree’s death has demonstrated that online classes were not meant for all. Stalin, also the Leader of Opposition, said that education should empower and make everyone eligible for everything. “Such uplifting education should also provide equal opportunity to all. Education without equal opportunity would sow discrimination. Rulers should realise that such unequal education will claim the lives of Anitha’s and Nithyashrees,” he said, asking the government not to misconstrue his argument as opposition to e-classes.
