First term payment of private school fees extended till September 30
The Madras High Court has extended the deadline for payment of first installment of fees in private schools till September 30.

With schools in Tamil Nadu being given indefinite leave due to the spread of the corona virus, arrangements have also been made to for online education and through television on behalf of the government.
A case was recently filed against private schools for charging excess fee in the Madras high court. According to the Department of Education, 75 complaints have been received so far about the extra fees. It was also reported that notices have been sent to 29 schools asking for clarification.
Apparently, private schools also filed against the order issued by the Tamil Nadu government banning the collection of tuition fees. The case came up for hearing in the Madras High Court today. The judge, who ordered the filing of a list of schools charging extra fees in violation of the High Court order, also warned that contempt of court action would be taken against schools that did not implement the court order.
In addition, the Madras High Court has extended the deadline for private schools to charge 40% of their tuition fees to September 30.
