Tables placed at either end of the bus stand and at the entrance of Mandi street have become areas people avoid if they are without a mask. Officials said that those who lack the money to pay the fine are asked give their swabs for testing after which they are issued a free mask and advised not to enter the bus in future without wearing it. Meanwhile conservancy staff who are on daily COVID duty said they drink as much Kabasura Kudineer as possible in a bid to stay safe. “We also get ourselves tested every month and imbibing Kabasura Kudineer ensures that we test negative,” a staffer added.
