COVID19 Update: TamilNadu records 5,015 new cases

Tamil Nadu recorded 5,015 new COVID 19 cases on Sunday, according to the Department of Health and Family welfare of State of Tamil Nadu. Thus, raising the overall number of cases in the state to 6,56,385.

According to the health bulletin, the number of fatalities was 65, increasing the death toll stands at 10,252.

While Chennai registered 1,250 new cases making the total number of infected cases 1,82,014, in the city so far, while other districts recorded 3765 new cases.

Chennai tops the chart with most infections followed by Coimbatore with 389 cases and Salem with 294 cases.

The total samples collected, on Sunday, were 90,107 increasing the testing toll to 83,22,832, the Health bulletin reported.

On the positive side, 5,005 were cured and discharged. So far, 6,02,038 have been cured of COVID virus, in TN.
