Posters mocking LoP not removed, Duraimurugan blames Velumani
Condemning the ruling AIADMK for allegedly sticking derogatory posters about his party president MK Stalin in many parts of the state, DMK general secretary Duraimurugan on Monday said that state Local Administration Minister SP Velumani might spoil the police department, like his own Ministry in the remainder of the AIADMK regime.

Alleging that the derogatory posters removed by the AIADMK men and police in many other places were left untouched in Coimbatore at the behest of Minister Velumani, Duraimurugan said the DMK men had staged protests and lodged a complaint after the police there failed to remove the derogatory posters at Kuniyamuthur (Velumani’s home turf) in Coimbatore.
Claiming that cases were booked against complainant DMK members based on the instructions of the Minister, the DMK general secretary said, “The Minister (Velumani) might spoil not just the Local Administration Ministry, but the state police department in the remaining six months of the regime.”
He also added that the DMK, which does not believe in such cheap politics, has successfully seen through the emergency days and the atrocities of their Amma (former AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa) and it would not be cowed down by such intimidations.
“Stop engaging in such cheap poster politics and seek votes by speaking truth to the people. We will not dispute that. People are the real masters in a democracy. They will teach a fitting lesson to your worrisome regime. Being in a responsible position (office of CM), you do not get embroiled in problems by heeding to people who advise derogatory poster strategies,” Duraimurugan said.
Warning that his party would organise a massive protest if action were not taken against those who stuck the derogatory posters, the DMK general secretary asked the Chief Minister to instruct police to initiate appropriate action and withdraw the cases foisted on the DMK men in Coimbatore.
