While the Madhya Pradesh bypoll results came in favour of the BJP government as a booster, the BJP workers who had plans to gather at the party headquarters Kamalalayam were forced to put the celebration on hold as the Bihar polling results went for a super over kind of situation with NDA and UPA dragging the slender margin till late in the night.

“The results are coming late due to the revised COVID-19 counting protocols and we are hoping for the NDA alliance to continue to rule the state of Bihar. And we will celebrate an early Deepavali on Wednesday morning when the results are fully out,” said a BJP spokesperson.

“Despite 15 years in power, the NDA alliance is able to pull through and these votes for the BJP shows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s schemes have reached the common man in Bihar,” BJP functionary LE Kanimozhi told reporters.

“The results may go anyway, but our party leader Tejaswi Yadav have emerged as a young charismatic leader in the Bihar politics leading the RJD to fight the mighty BJP and the ruling Nitish Kumar led JDU,” TN RJD spokesperson Kumara Vel told DT Next.

The 31-year-old Tejaswi had connected well with the young voters and took up to 17 rallies in a day covering the state of Bihar to ensure that the RJD vote bank is intact, Kumara Vel added.

“Tamil Nadu leaders are keenly watching the results of Bihar as there is a lot of resemblance between Bihar and Tamil Nadu in terms of the alliance,” said political commentator R Mani.

The DMK and the RJD are almost similar in opposing the BJP. The ruling Janata dal is like the AIADMK in alliance with the BJP. This election result is something that should be closely watched as both states have almost the same population and the number of assembly seats in Bihar is 243 and in Tamil Nadu it is 234, Mani added.
