Hearing the plea given by BJP, Madras High Court questioned the party how could they go-ahead with Vel Yatra procession when state government has denied permission.
The court asked the saffron party why can't they wait for the permission.
A statement from DGP's side was presented before the Court, there was mention of BJP cadres flouting safety norms like physical distancing and wearing masks.
In addition to this, BJP reportedly didn't follow the limitation of 10 vehicles and 30 members as they ensured they would follow in the court the other day.
Also, the statement informed that the Vel Yatra wasn't a religious but a political procession.
BJP in a clear defiance of Tamil Nadu government's order had taken up the procession as they planned.
