Will Rajini spell out his political plan in today’s RMM meet?
Actor Rajinikanth has called for a meeting of Rajini Makkal Mandram district secretaries on Monday to spell out his political plan for the ensuing state Assembly polls with uncertainty still prevailing over his political plunge.

Sources said Rajinikanth is likely to address the district secretaries, who will be assembled at his Raghavendra Mandapam, through video conference considering his health condition and to maintain social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A district secretary of RMM in the city said that they had got a call from the Madram top office-bearers to come to the Raghavendra Mandapam on Monday morning for a meeting with Thalaivar. “There was no communication on whether the superstar will meet us in person or through video conferencing. But, I hope there will be clarity on the political plunge of the actor in the meeting,” he said.
The actor’s meeting with the district secretaries comes a month after he clarified that he would spell out his political plans after discussion with his Mandram functionaries. Last month, a letter was circulated in his name in the social media in which the actor was advised against entering politics in view of his health and the ongoing pandemic. The letter seemed to indicate the actor had been advised to restrict travel since he has a kidney condition and could be vulnerable to the coronavirus.
Rajinikanth, in the statement had said the letter was “not mine, but the doctor’s advice is true.” “I shall discuss with Rajini Makkal Mandram and shall announce my political stand at an appropriate time,” the actor, who has weighed in on various political issues over the past two years, but has delayed his formal plunge, added.
On December 31, 2017, Rajinikanth announced that he would take a political plunge by floating his own party and contesting in all the 234 Assembly seats. In March this year, the actor held a consultation with his district secretaries and announced that he would take a political plunge only if there were a resurgence and wave in favour of him. He asked his cadre to take his idea of limiting party posts and bringing youngsters and clean people to politics and giving them power while he will head the party.
