Rahul discusses poll preparedness with TNCC leaders
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday held a discussion with senior Congress leaders in Tamil Nadu about the ensuing Assembly polls. Rahul was understood to have elicited the views of senior leaders about the party’s poll preparedness and negotiations to be held with DMK in the months to come.

In the meeting, which lasted for an hour and a half from 4.30 pm via video call, Rahul along with Congress general secretaries KC Venugopal and Mukul Wasnik, also detailed the various issues that could be raked up against the BJP-AIADMK alliance during the campaign. A statement issued by Congress president KS Alagiri confirmed the discussion and said the meeting also pondered over the winning strategy and even identification of seats besides strengthening and improvement of coordination among the Secular Progressive Alliance parties led by the DMK.
Rahul Gandhi, who lent ears to their views, advised TNCC to make good use of the opportunity to strengthen the party unit. The former Congress national president, Alagiri’s statement said, also discussed how the anti-Tamil approach of the BJP , imposition of NEET and anti-farmer laws enacted by the Centre could be popularised among the voters of the state. The discussion also contemplated the campaign against the AIADMK for blindly supporting the anti-Tamil approach of the BJP-led Centre.
TNCC president Alagiri was learnt to have apprised Rahul about the ongoing SWOT analysis done by the state party unit for the Assembly polls. Former union minister P Chidambaram, Congress legislature party leader KR Ramasamy, working presidents and several MPs also participated.
