6 flights from Chennai, ferry services in Kumari cancelled
Six flights from Chennai airport are cancelled in the wake of Cyclone Burevi. An announcement to the effect was made on Wednesday. The flights are scheduled to fly to Thoothukudi, Tiruchy and Kochi.

The flights which were supposed to arrive from there were also cancelled. The passengers were informed regarding the cancellation earlier. Airport sources said so far only six flights have got cancelled and depending on the weather in the south districts a few more flights also might get cancelled.
Meanwhile, ferry services in Kanniyakumari have been suspended on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. The ferry service got suspended based on instructions from Tamil Nadu Maritime Board. Five passenger boats remain anchored in shore waters of Kanniyakumari, A Chellappa, Manager, Poompuhar Shipping Corporation, said.
