Poll roll ‘manipulations’: AIADMK, DMK petition CEO

AIADMK spokesperson and party advocate Babu Murgavel who is frequenting the office of CEO and DGP said that the opposition DMK has started spreading hate campaign and involved in creating double entries into to electoral photo rolls. There are double and triple entries in Karur district the name of the local DMK district treasurer is mentioned in three places, former MLA Murugavel told DT Next.

“The DMK is adding bogus voters to the draft voters’ roll,” he alleged.

In a related development, CEO had instructed the district election officers to look into the complaints raised by the political parties and also submit a report on the action taken against the petitions received on voters’ roll.

It may be noted that DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi had alleged that the AIADMK members had enrolled outsiders and the dead into the voters roll by forging application papers.

Meanwhile, the public election department on Saturday conducted the special summary revisions and accepted form 6 for the inclusion of names and Form 7 for deletion of names into voters roll. The public can also visit the nearby ward level offices seeking clarifications and corrections in the voters and the final list of photo electoral voter roll is likely to be released by next month.

With the actor, Rajnikanth announcing the launch of his political party the members of Rajini Makkal Mandram were also seen taking up voters roll enumeration work in parts of high-profile RK Nagar assembly constituency.
