Stalin slams CM’s publicity drive on investments
DMK president MK Stalin on Tuesday slammed Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for the publicity drive organised by the government for wooing investments to the state during lockdown.

Citing a media report suggesting that only 9.4 per cent of the Rs 1.9 lakh crore investment announced by the government was realised by the state in the last 10 years, Stalin referred to the full page advertisements issued by the AIADMK regime for wooing investment even during COVID times and wondered if the regime deserved such media advertisements. Referring to the report, which put the total investment attracted in the last 10 years at Rs 18, 188 crore, Stalin said that it was amply clear that investment to the tune of just Rs 1,800 per year was attracted in the 10-year AIADMK regime.
Describing the MoUs inked during the two editions of Global Investor’s Meet and the foreign tours of Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues as “empty announcements,” the DMK president said that it has been proven that everything is wasteful advertisement.
Remarking that the pretension of the Chief Minister, who issued two full page advertisements with taxpayers’ money has been exposed, Stalin sarcastically wondered if the regime, which was incapable of attracting investments, deserved full page advertisements.
Stalin had earlier demanded a white paper report on the investments brought by the AIADMK regime and accused the incumbent government of driving away investors to other states.
