‘Kongu Nadu’ media creation, not in BJP’s agenda, says Sekhar
BJP state unit treasurer SR Sekhar on Sunday said that carving out Western region from Tamil Nadu to form ‘Kongu Nadu’ was not an intention of the BJP. “It was just the news that has come through the media. And, the BJP has not thought about such an idea.

However, only the party high command will decide on it,” he told reporters in Tirupur.
Participating in a meeting to discuss on the party’s preparations for local body polls, the BJP leader said that the state has been falsely blaming the Centre for increase in the fuel cost.
“In a bid to counter this false propaganda, the BJP has decided to protest by placing boards announcing the state and Central taxes for petrol in all the petrol bunks in Tirupur district,” he said.
Sekhar also said that the DMK should implement at least some of its poll promises, including reducing Rs 100 on gas cylinders and Rs 5 on petrol before filing the budget in the Assembly.
