Identify who gave firing order in Thoothukudi incident: Alagiri
Speaking to reporters, the TNCC chief said that the officials just obey orders of someone in the position and action against them would be a wrong precedent.
TIRUCHY: "Action initiated against officials over the Thoothukudi Sterlite firing incident is unacceptable. The court as well as the government should identify who gave the firing order as the officials are just a tool in this episode," said TNCC president KS Alagiri here on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, the TNCC chief said that the officials just obey orders of someone in the position and action against them would be a wrong precedent. "This will lead the officials not to follow any order from those who are in that position in future and so the actual person behind this incident should be found guilty and not the officials," Alagiri stressed.
Meanwhile, Alagiri asked the senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad not to spit any comment against the Congress party, in which he enjoyed the lion share of facilities for decades. "It is an usual practice to spread ill against the party while leaving it and it is not good for a senior person like Azad to speak against the grand old party and the leaders," said Alagiri while responding to a query about the exit of the veteran leader.
Besides, the TNCC president said that the party functionaries in various capacity have planned to give a grand reception and support to Rahul Gandhi who has set to start the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanniyakumari on September 7.
