MP Manickam Tagore exposes Nadda’s ‘lie’ on AIIMS Madurai
JP Nadda had informed that 95 per cent construction of AIIMS Madurai has been completed.
CHENNAI: Snail paced construction of AIIMS Madurai continues to be the thorn in flesh of Tamil Nadu since its laying of foundation stone by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019.
Congress MP from Virudhunagar Manickam Tagore visited the land proposed for the construction of AIIMS hospital in Madurai to show there has been no improvement in bringing up the Centre-funded medical hospital/college.
The Parliamentarian was holding a placard that read, "Where is 95 per cent complete AIIMS building?"
He was recording a video where he said JP Nadda had told a lie by saying 95 per cent of work was completed. He further attacked the BJP leader saying "the party continues to betray Tamil Nadu".

JP Nadda on Thursday had said "Tamil Nadu is on Centre's priority" and that the "Centre is always be ready to facilitate the economic development of Tamil Nadu".
Nadda claimed "Rs 1,264 crore have with an addition of Rs 164 crores for the infectious disease block have been allotted to AIIMS Madurai", he said adding that 95 per cent of works were completed.
Popularly, AIIMS Madurai was also on the forefront of DMK's 2021 TN assembly elections campaign where Udhayanidhi Stalin rallied holding a brick with AIIMS inscribed on it to take potshots on the AIADMK-BJP alliance's failure to carry out the premier medical institution's construction.
