TIRUVALLUR: Tamil Nadu has the highest number of women who opt for jobs in the police department across the country and it is one of the safest places for women to work, said police IG (general) A Radhika.

Speaking at the passing out parade organised for 432 women recruits who had undergone a seven-month basic training at the police training school in Kanagavallipuram in Tiruvallur, she said, “This training session is the foundation for the work that would ensue over the next 30 years.” Radhika also added that since this is a uniformed job, society would always have an eye on them so it is important to carry out their duties in an impartial manner. “It is important to engage in various physical activities during your free time instead of whiling it away over the internet,” she said while addressing the young recruits.
