Fire breaks out at JNU hostel; students decry administration

Videos shared by the JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) showed flames and smoke emerging from an electrical panel board.

Several people working in the building were evacuated through windows using ladders, a fire department official said.

The threat was declared a hoax as "nothing objectionable" was found during searches, police said.

A fire broke out in plastic pipes at the Delhi Jal Board office in the Jamia area of the national capital on Thursday, said the Delhi Fire Service.

According to Director of Delhi Fire Service (DFS) Atul Garg, a call regarding a blaze at a godown was received at 6:15 a.m. in Budhpur, Alipur area

According to rescue personnel, five fire tenders were rushed to the spot after word of the incident was received.

The deceased was identified as Vinod Kumar by police, a resident of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony of nearby Karawal Nagar area.

The Fire Service department said that a total of 7 fire tenders have been rushed to the spot.
