Talking to DT Next, the director of the film Rahul Kabali said, “The same team had shot for another feature film titled Bayamariya Brammai. The lockdown happened as we were about to complete the film and the team was bogged down. Hence, we decided to make this film immediately.”
Cue, was shot using iPhones. “We shot it in iPhone 8, 9 and 11. We asked the artistes to click a picture of their surroundings and send it. We then drew a storyboard and they shot from their respective places and we put it together. Even scenes that featured more than one person in the same frame were merged using technologies,” he added. Divulging about the story, Rahul said, “It is about a detective, who faces challenges in solving a case during lockdown and how he cracks it. It is about four different people across four weeks of quarantine. We also have four rap sequences in the film for four characters and we would like to invite other artistes to collaborate with us for the rap.” The music for Cue is composed by K.
