In one of the quiz questions that the civic body posted from its Twitter handle, the respondents were asked to select which was not the symptom of COVID among two options – fever and rash. Of the more than 1,300 respondents, 25 per cent chose fever, which incidentally is among the most common symptoms of the disease.

“The COVID-19 Facts quiz was started to create more awareness of the disease and to engage people with useful information,” a Corporation official said.

The civic body has already roped in NGOs in creating awareness and prevention of the disease. During a meeting with NGO representatives that was held recently, the volunteers were asked to conduct awareness campaigns in slum areas and containment zones. As per the civic body records, there are around 650 slum areas in the city.

Meanwhile, as part of COVID-19 prevention efforts, the Corporation has launched a health profile self-registration portal for city residents, on which they are asked to provide details like age, address, pregnancy status, details of comorbid conditions like diabetes, hypertension, disability and chronic illness using the link http://covid19.chennaicorporation.gov.in/c19/Symptoms.
