Education in Tamil Nadu ready for global competition: Minister Chezhiaan

TIRUCHY: While Tamil Nadu is already on top among the states in higher education, Chief Minister MK Stalin has been working in such a way that it would compete in world-class education, said the Higher Education Minister Govi Chezhiaan here on Wednesday.

After assuming charge as the new Higher Education Minister Govi Chezhiaan came to Tiruchy en route to his home district of Thanjavur and spoke to the media persons that, despite being from a poor and marginalised background and community that was denied education, the Chief Minister MK Stalin had made him as the Higher Education Minister.

“This is the basic principle of the Dravidian Model government. Everything for everyone is the main agenda of this government and the Chief Minister is very particular on this concept,” he said.

Stating that Tamil Nadu has already been placed in the top position among the states in higher education, the minister said that the Chief Minister has been working very hard to achieve more in the field of education.

“With the addition of new syllabi, the Chief Minister strives to take the Tamil Nadu education system to global level,” he said.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for selecting him to be the higher education minister which would ensure the augmented educational system.

The Chief Minister has been leading the state as a role model government for other states in terms of everything including education and promised to fulfil the Chief Minister’s aspiration, he added.

Earlier he was welcomed by the DMK cadre in the Tiruchy airport and proceeded to Thanjavur where he was given a warm reception by the district administration led by Collector B Priyanka Pankajam. Mayor Shan Ramanathan and others were also present.
