The temple will open by 3 am tomorrow morning. Viswaroopa deepam will take place by 3.30 am. At 6 am Udhaya Maarthanda abhishegam will take place. After that, a ceremony of Lord Asthiradevar's holy dip in the sea will take place.

Swamy Alaivaayugandha Peruman will then walk in golden peacock chariot and go for Veedhi Ula to bless the devotees. He will travel through the sannidhi street to reach back the temple.
Thaipoosam is widely celebrated in many parts of Tamil Nadu. Devotees of Lord Muruga will wear saffron colored clothes to worship Lord Muruga. Many devotees will travel to temples with a vehicle on which Lord Muruga's posters will be pasted on and his songs being sung by them. The devotees will not bother about the wrenching cold, but bath in cold sea water to take a holy dip in the morning and worship Lord Muruga by standing in the long queue.
In Thiruchendoor Subramania Swamy temple, the thiruvizha arrangements are being done by R Kannan Adhithan and Amrith, accompanied by the temple employees.
