Strict regulations enforced for Sabarimala pilgrimage

Hindu Rights and Charitable Endowments rights commissioner has informed of the strictures required to be followed by pilgrims of Sabarimala.

Pre-booking online in https://sabarimalaonline.org is a must and pilgrims will be listed according to first-come-first-served basis.

Two days in a week is alloted for the temple visit, one will be a weekday where permission ceiling is 1,000 people and other day in the weekend the ceiling will be raised to 2,000.

The pilgrims are expected to take a test 48 hours prior to the visit and can also avail for a test in Sabarimala for a payment. Children below 10 and people above 60-65 are barred from visiting the holy site.

Those below poverty line must carry their BPL and Ayushmaan Bharat identity cards.

Those with a history of ailments too aren't allowed to visit the temple. Bathing in Pamba river, ghee anointment and lodging in Sannidhaanam and Ganapathi temple is strictly prohibited.

Pilgrims must visit the temple only via Erumeli and Vadaserikkarai.
