CM Edappadi K Palanisamy opens health facilities worth Rs 13.40 crore

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy inaugurated infrastructure facilities for the Health and Family Welfare Department worth Rs 13.40 crore through video conferencing on Wednesday.

The facilities include a 20-bed male/ female ward, a 10-bed post-operative ward and a 10-bed paediatric ward in the government hospital at Tirupuvanam in Sivaganga district estimated at Rs 3 crore, post-operative ward and maternity OP ward costing Rs 1.20 crore in the Dindigul Government Headquarters Hospital, OP ward and blood bank costing Rs 90 lakh at the Dharmapuri Government Hospital.

PHC (Primary Health Centres) in Vellore, Villupuram, Tiruvallur, Virudhunagar, Krishnagiri, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur districts at an estimated Rs 5 crore in addition to upgrading PHCs in Tiruvallur, Tiruvarur and Vellore districts at a cost of Rs 3.30 crore was formally dedicated to the public, an official release said. 

Those present on the occasion included Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar, Khadi and Village Industries Minister G Baskaran, chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and state health secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan.
